So bring us your problems: business, marketing, product, technology, whatever. Because frankly speaking, finding great ideas is child's play. That's why at Step Zero® skunkworks innovation, we share ideas at zero cost to the leaders of companies with a $100m+ market cap. And when we say zero, we mean free, free - not "you owe us a favour" free. Because solving your problem in unexpected ways - the "how" - is table stakes. Ideas are literally step zero: no calories burnt. The hard part is finding the "where"... perfectly defined problems... because finding treasure isn't about how you dig, it's about where - and we are world-class cartographers.
Founded by Jonathan Francis, PwC's British Entrepreneur of the Year, StepZero is an umbrella that houses over 70 of the best senior ex-Google, Facebook, Visa, Pinterest, Amazon, Depop, Uber & Dyson skunkworks innovators, scientists, marketers, strategists, & engineers that Jon has ever worked with. We help the world's top leaders to design next-generation products, companies & cultures. To date, we've spent time with leaders from organisations including: The UN, Unilever, AB Inbev, Kraft-Heinz, Nike, J&J & more - spanning Europe, MENA & the US. Our entire, massive network also lives on a single WhatsApp group, helping Jon to shape his own companies... friends > colleagues.
Our philosophy is simple:
Consulting sucks. When was the last time you enjoyed being consulted at? Never, that was when. We make consulting fun, by making it fascinating, friendly and free; we don't have consultants, we have friends. Ideas are ridiculously easy... inventing ideas alongside you keeps our friends stimulated, we get to riff with some of the coolest leaders from around the world and we get to help solve cutting-edge user challenges. Come back again and again at no cost, we don't care, we love it. If you ever need a McKinsey for a proper project, just think of us at the same time. We're a bit pricier than them for projects - but you get a safe pair of hands who you can try before you buy and check out your chemistry. About 1/7 leaders who come for ideas have wanted a project, so we're doing something right. For the other 6/7 - fill your boots: we're here, eager and listening whenever you want to jam.
Our process is simple too:
1) Preeti will help you schedule a virtual coffee; we'll quickly chat to see if any of our friends would be perfect to help you creatively problem-solve your challenge. NDAs are fine.
2) We'll connect you both, and you'll leave with free ideas.
3) Get our ideas. Take our ideas. Enjoy your ideas. Deploy your ideas. Around 1/7 meets result in a project somewhere way down the line, so we're doing something right. You're welcome to poach too, we don't care. If you've got something that captures our friend's attention they should 100% take it - they're frankly geniuses, and if you can hire them then your project must be earth-shattering. They all deserve that in their lives.
4) For most leaders, they just need ideas, not projects; we wouldn't accept your money if you threw it at us. Just drop back in whenever you need a sounding board, we'll be listening.
